Rehab Lab: Repairing Old Windows
In this one-of-a-kind workshop, historic window specialist Paul Schmidt leads you through the repair and restoration of old wood windows at a 1912 Craftsman home, one of the first built in the Kenny neighborhood of Southwest Minneapolis.
You’ll learn the anatomy of a window, how to remove and assess sashes, and various preservation and weatherization methods. Other topics include energy efficiency in windows, finding the cause of drafts, sealing leaks, picking the right storm window, stripping paint, and dealing with rotted wood.
An absolute don’t-miss for anyone who cares for old houses and buildings, this class is presented by Preservation Alliance of Minnesota.
